The Liebster Award

Firstly, I would like to thank Lifestyle Unplugged for nominating me for the Liebster Award.

It was a pleasant surprise to wake up to. I have only been blogging on WordPress for about two months now, so I appreciate all the recognition and exposure I get for what originally only began as an experimental hobby.

The Liebester Award was created to give recognition to new Bloggers and to help others discover them. It’s a great way to welcome people to the Blogging community and to help promote the subject matters they write about.

Here are my answers to the questions I was asked by Lifestyle Unplugged.

What do you like to do in your leisure time?

I can be either hiking through rock, river and dirt outside on the weekends with my rescue pup, or working on my novel. Music also tends to accompany all these activities. I like to stay fit and active, so I spend a lot of time at the gym, as well. When there’s a beach nearby, you can add snorkeling to the list. And I am not ashamed to include that I also colour!

What was the last book you read?

The last book I finished was “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tokien. I’m currently reading volume 1 of his Lord of the Rings series.

What is your favourite food?

I love Italian food – especially pasta. The absolute best I ever had was coconut alfredo shrimp pasta at R. Thomas Deluxe Grill in Downtown Atlanta, GA.

Where was your last holiday?

Technically, I am always on holiday and always working, as I am self-employed and work from home and the road. However, my last adventure landed me in Pennslvania for a week and New York for a second week.

What is your favourite season of the year?

I will have to be biased and say fall, because I’m a fall baby and of course, what holiday is better than Halloween?! Oh wait… it’s not a holiday. But – it should be! I should start a petition for this… =/

Why did you begin blogging & how long have you been blogging for?

I started to Blog because writing has always been a passion of mine, and while I can’t claim to have lived a good and easy life, I certainly have had an interesting one. I thought people could benefit from the lessons I learned, and might enjoy the pictures I take along the way.

I started this blog in mid-July of 2015, when I embarked on my biggest adventure yet. But I’ve had several blogs on and off since I was 14 years old.

What is your favourite animal?

My favourite animal is a dog, because their love and loyalty remains unmatched by anything and anyone else in the animal kingdom. Volunteering at an animal shelter in Montego Bay, Jamaica reinforced that for me, and the two rescues in my life – Skittles and Tyko – made certain I will never forget.

How did you meet your best friend?

I met one best friend in high school, and the other through a family member. I look forward to finding a new one at an animal shelter next year, that will be willing to move in with me and share my bed and food.

What did you want to be when you grew up & did it work out that way?

I wanted to be a writer when I grew up. It isn’t paying all the bills the way I would have liked, but I’m still young, and still working on it.

What would be your desert island three essential items?

I spoke to my friend about this just yesterday! I told him I would only need one thing – a really hot, survivalist man who knows how to forage, protect and build shelter. He should be a brunet, with a beard and be really fit. I can provide encouragement from the beach.

But since I have the luxury of two other choices, I would like to add snorkeling gear and a paddle board. xD

How many languages can you speak?

Fluently, I speak English (US & British) and a dialect, known as Jamaican patois. I also know a good deal of Spanish, a little French, and less Italian. Duolingo and I work on our Spanish together almost every day.
