A few weeks ago, I shared that this would be the year I finally go camping — and not just once, but several times over. I’ve been doing my research, stocking up on gear, and mentally preparing myself for being fully immersed in the woods.
The trips I have planned are unlikely to have any serious thru-hiking or backpacking involved, but that’s something I’d really love to work my way up to, maybe by next year.
Baby steps!
I know there are many others like myself who’re prepping for more outdoorsy adventures, so I’ll be sharing some of the helpful information I come across, over time.
In the video below, an experienced backpacker talks about some of the mistakes beginners make — and why. I’m pretty sure I’ll be guilty of at least two of them, even with her advice. 😅
Have you ever been backpacking and/or camping before? What other bits of advice would you give to adventurers who are just starting out?
If you’re not a veteran adventurer, what are some of the concerns you would have about spending a few days or weeks in the great outdoors?
