RV Travel Vlog | Hosting Friends at Red Rock Canyon During a Thunderstorm

When I lived in a sticks-and-bricks home, the weather was irrelevant. Unless I planned on heading into town or doing something outdoorsy, it didn’t matter. A whole storm could be happening outside in my Atlanta home and I would have no idea. In an RV, the opposite is true. Weather always matters and you always know exactly how hot, cold, windy, or rainy it is outside.

On this particular day, my friends and I saw a warning in our weather apps that it might rain. The warning came at the last minute, after more than a week of planning our get-together at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. In the desert, it rarely rains, even when the news says it well, so we didn’t take it seriously.

Well … it didn’t just rain; it poured. This video shows how the change in weather ruined my best preparations and how we managed to salvage it and have a good playdate anyway.

My videos are several weeks behind where I am now. If you’d like to see new ones, check out my YouTube channel. To see what I’ve been up to recently, drop by my Instagram page. Thanks for watching!
