For everyone asking, here's the update on the tent: I checked it this morning before leaving camp and I don't see any damage to the main part of the tent. I didn't have time to take a good look at the rain fly. So, what happened was the ground was too hard to stake, so I tied it down instead to the heaviest boulders I could find. That worked just fine during the wind storm at Organ Pipe but didn't work at all during the wind storm at Tucson Mountain. The unstaked Gazelle didn't last 5 minutes in the storm. It actually dragged the boulders it was tied to. The wind was that strong. @gazelletents messaged me after seeing the story and said I should have tied it down via the hubs and not the grommets to stop the sides from popping in. The sides popping in had nothing to do with the tent flying across the campground and hitting my truck. 😂🤣 The problem was that the tent was not staked. Only one side popped in. I've been inside the tent before when a side popped in. I promise you, I was not Mary Poppins-ing across any campgrounds. Also realized afterward that damn...they didn't even ask if I was okay. Just "You didn't use the guy-lines properly." Have you checked if my truck is upset that some big orange bubble slapped him on the ass? Hello! 🤣 Anyway, @shadowtheprcat and I were fine. We spent the night in the @gfc_superlite. Not gonna lie, that wind woke me up several times during the night and I was starting to wonder if the #gfcsuperlite was gonna make it. I had zero issues. I bought the wedge shape because I heard it was better for wind and I'm always in windy areas. Really happy with how it did! 👌🏼 but the REAL miracle of this story is that my lugaloo was in the tent when it did somersaults across the campground and it neither opened nor spilled. I'm IMPRESSED. 😮
