I launched this blog in the summer of 2015 to document my travel adventures by air and road.
For the next nine months, I had no permanent address. I bounced from Jamaica to the U.S., and then from state to state. Without a doubt, the nomad life was bliss, but it would not last.
Earlier this year, the first travel ban coupled with political uncertainty regarding immigrants, put a stop to my travel plans. It also put a halt on the launch of our travel services at Alexis Chateau PR.
Travel Plans Trumped
Our fears were not unfounded. A second travel ban followed. We then received confirmed reports of Jamaicans losing their visas and residency status. The most recent report came from a Jamaican with a background in international relations, just last week.
But what is my life without travel? And what’s the point of living in America if I can’t hike its trails, climb its mountains, surf in its oceans, and swim in its streams?
So after careful monitoring of the sociopolitical drama, I decided to take a calculated leap of faith.
Desert Vacation
For those of you who follow me, Shadow, or the company on social media, you already know where I’m headed with this. For everyone else, I’m ecstatic to share that I ticked Las Vegas off my list.
Over the next month, I’ll be sharing short pieces of my trip. But for now, here’s a taste of what’s in store for May.
Day 1: Raving at the Marquee

Day 2: Visiting Europe…in Vegas

Day 3: Getting Lost in the Desert

Day 4: Hiking up Lone Mountain

Day 5: Finding Water in the Desert

During my 5-day stay, I hiked up two mountains, went swimming in the desert, attended a rave, found a Taco Bell that serves liquor, and pigged out on sushi. What else could I ask for?
Stay tuned for more!

Awesome pictures,u look great.
Thank you! I had a great time! 🙂
Wish I could go.
What’s stopping you?
money and passport 🙁
I paid around $550 for my trip, but I’m in the US. No passport needed for another state. Where are you?
I am in Canada. A province called Alberta. Above the Montana state.
You’re not far away then. I thought Canada in general paid well. High minimum wage and all.
If only I had the 💰😭
Well I don’t know what your finances look like, but travel is a priority for me so I fit it into my budget. 😊 I can live on $800 in a month if it means I get to take a trip!

But Jamaica must be wonderful. So far I only know the rum. 😉 Michael
