I first learned about the Ladder Canyon through Instagram. I love trails that have ladders and other unexpected ways of making your way along. Even so, I took one look at the trail and decided it wasn’t the kind of hike you did alone. After a while, I forgot about it.
One evening, one of my campground neighbours started talking about a ladder trail a few hours away. It sounded familiar, so I went looking for the original Instagram post. Sure enough, it was the same one. I asked Kevin if he felt he could handle the ladders on the trail and he gave me the green light.
All three of us planned to go hiking the following Friday morning. However, one person forgot and didn’t make it, so Kevin and I went alone. This is part one of a two-part video. If the embedded link doesn’t work, you can use this link.

Well done both of you. I’m not sure that I could have done that with two hands!
It was definitely terrifying! I’m glad we did it though.
Oh my gosh – my heart was in my throat. You are both brave. But what fantastic scenery!
Thank you! It was STUNNING out there.
Happy to live vicariously through you, lol. You are welcome.
I’ve never heard of this place. Glad you found new adventures.
If you’re ever nearby, you should check it out. I wouldn’t recommend going alone though.
Together you have three hands – I loved that. Looks like a very rewarding trip already.
Thank you! It was amazing. Stay tuned for the mountain views next week. 😂
Looking forward to it aleardy.
I take it you both got back down safely and you’re not posting this from the top of a rock somewhere!?
Hahahahahahahaha! We got back down safely. I didn’t mention it in the videos, but we did both fall on that mountain. Luckily, we weren’t near any of those drop offs!
